Afterward, visit Trinity College and walk its cobbled courtyard to see the ornate 8th-century Book of Kells. Your evening is free.
DAY 2 | DUBLIN / KILKENNY / CORK
Set out from Dublin and travel to Kildare for a guided tour of the Irish National Stud in Tully. Take in the stallion boxes, the foaling unit and the museum. Step out into the majestic Japanese gardens for a guided walk. Next stop is Kilkenny, for a uniquely Irish experience. Learn about and try your hand at the fastest amateur field sport in the world, the 3,000-year-old game of Hurling, before enjoying a hearty bowl of Irish stew for lunch. Travel on to Cork and check-in to your accommodations overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
DAY 3 | KAYAKING / BLARNEY CASTLE / KILLARNEY
Enjoy a kayaking trip along the Wild Atlantic Way in nearby Skibereen. No other craft allows you to experience the coast in such an intimate way. Alternatively, opt to take your kayaking trip on a moonlight tour the previous evening. Later, set out for Blarney Castle and climb the steps to the very top where the famous Blarney Stone is set in the wall below the battlements. Legend holds that the stone imparts the gift of eloquence to all who kiss it. Explore the grounds including Rock Close, a mystical place where yew and oak trees grow around an ancient druidic settlement. End your day in Killarney, renowned for its lively pubs and open, cheerful atmosphere, full of what the Irish call 'craic' (fun)!
DAY 4 | RING OF KERRY
Wind 'round the beautiful Iveragh Peninsula, better known as The Ring of Kerry, one of the most magical places in all of Ireland. Take in views of mountains, valleys, lakes, and sea as you travel through this unspoiled land that has inspired artists and poets for centuries. After your drive, visit Muckross Traditional Farms, re-creating Irish farm life in the 1930s and 1940s. Your evening is free in lively Killarney.
