May the Force be with you on your Star Wars Adventure! Pick up your Hertz car rental at Shannon Airport and embark on your journey to Killarney. This afternoon, take a Jaunting Car Tour. It’s the perfect way to see the hidden delights of Killarney National Park and the famous Lakes of Killarney.  Step back in time and experience Ireland’s most traditional mode of transport.  As you ramble along, hear tales on the legends and folklore of the area, with some Irish wit thrown in for good measure!

After breakfast this morning, travel to another Galaxy known as Iveragh Peninsula, better known as ‘The Ring of Kerry’. Visit the fishing village Portmagee and view Skellig Michael. It was here the famous final scene of Star Wars: The Force Awakenswas filmed where Luke Skywalker was tracked down by Rey. Why not stop off at the Skellig Michael Visitor Centre before returning to Killarney.

“The longing you seek is not behind you, it is in front of you”. Today travel to the Dingle Peninsula, thrusting out into the Atlantic Ocean, along the Wild Atlantic Way claiming Ireland’s most westerly point.  Visit the area of Ceann Sibeal, (C-eann She-Bil) where the Jedi Temple was re-constructed for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Continue on your journey around the majestic hills, unspoiled valleys and glittering mountains streams which tumble down to the lakes. Drive on to Dingle, a market town and fishing port.

Continue on your journey along the Wild Atlantic Way travelling the coastal road through County Clare taking in Lahinch and The Burren. The word ‘Burren’ come from an Irish word ‘Boíreann’ meaning a rocky place. With a lunar like limestone landscape, take time to walk the pavement that is truly out of this world. Stop for a visit at the Cliffs of Moher before reaching Galway a thriving, bohemian & cultural city. Galway is a joy to explore with its labyrinthine cobbled streets, colorful shop facades and busy café/ bar culture.

Leave your ‘Landspeeder’ (rental car) behind at the hotel this morning and meet your shuttle to the Aran Islands ferry. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the Aran Islands became famous for its Irish speaking community and their unique way of life, where age-old traditions co-exist comfortably with modern living. Enjoy the island’s main attractions on a minibus tour including the austere landscape crisscrossed with dry stonewalls, amazing coastal views and the Cliff of Dun Aengus, a prehistoric hill fort.

This morning, journey to Westport in County Mayo for a walking tour of the village. Hear interesting stories ranging from how the Ice Age shaped Clew bay and Irelands holiest mountain Croagh Patrick, right up to today when Westport is consistently being voted Irelands tidiest town and even the best place to live in Ireland. Next stop, the coolest place on the planet, according to Lonely Plant, County Donegal. From Slieve League Cliffs to Glenveagh National Park, Donegal is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland.

Travel to Malin Head, the most northern point in Ireland. It is here scenes from Star Wars: The Last Jediwas filmed including the Millennium Falcon! Malin Head is steeped in history and offers many activities such as bird watching, walking, fishing and swimming. You can view Five Fingers Strand, home to some of Europe’s largest sand dunes. Continue to Londonderry for your overnight stay, a city steeped in a rich political and living history.

Journey along the Antrim Coast this morning, alive with breathtaking scenery as you travel around each bend in the road, with pretty fishing villages and dramatic headlands coming into view. Why not visit the Giants’ Causeway, where for centuries, visitors have marveled at its majesty and mystery. The unique rock formations have, for millions of years, stood as a natural rampart against the unbridled ferocity of the Atlantic storms and the rugged symmetry of the columns never fail to intrigue and inspire. Next stop Belfast, the capital city of Northern Ireland.

“This is a new day, a new beginning”. This morning discover Belfast on a Hop-on Hop-off bus tour before traveling south to Dublin. En-route stop in the Boyne Valley region in County Meath, the cradle of Irish civilization in Neolithic times. Before reaching Dublin take time to visit Newgrange or Knowth, Stone Age passage tombs that pre-date the pyramids by a thousand years. Drop your car back to the Hertz South Circular Road location and make your own way over to hotel.

Hop aboard the hop on hop off bus tour today. Explore Ireland’s capital city and visitor attractions at your leisure with your ticket and enjoy three fantastic routes. Soak in the tales and sights of Dublin, and in the words of Yoda, “always pass on what you have learned”.
